desiguALdades.net Postdoctoral Scholarships
desigualdades.net is an interdisciplinary, international, and multi-institutional research network on social inequalities in Latin America. Its aim is to promote a paradigmatic shift by systematically addressing the relevance of transregional entanglements for phenomena of social inequalities. In order to reach this aim desigualdades.net offers a scholarship to postdoctoral researchers. It is hosted by the Freie Universität Berlin where the research community of Professors, Researchers and Fellows provide an excellent environment for the network.
The network is interested in the research inputs from junior Postdocs who have already received a doctorate in economics, law, geography, history, social and political sciences, or a related field within the last 5 years and who work on social inequalities in Latin America from a transregional perspective.
Scholarship holders are selected on the basis of the relevance of their proposed projects to the research foci of desigualdades.net, their research experience in Latin America and their research accomplishments and potential.
desigualdades.net, is situated in a Villa at the Campus of Freie Universität Berlin, it provides excellent research facilities, and organizes multidisciplinary research workshops and discussions on the different aspects of social inequalities in the age of globalisation. desiguALdades.net gives Postdoctoral researchers the possibility to build up interdisciplinary, international networks with Principal Investigators and Fellows, as well as to engage in academic exchange with doctoral students of the Network. Postdoctoral researchers will play a crucial role in the coordination of the research activities of the network. In this way they can both sharpen their research profile and gain experience in other fields of academic practice, such as teaching and coordination. Postdocs are expected to actively participate in the academic program organised by desiguAldades.net, such as the weekly colloquium, yearly workshops of the respective Research Dimensions, yearly Summer Schools and the yearly network conference.
